Folding Cast Iron Roller
Folding cast iron rollers are available with 40 cm and 50 cm ring diameters and working widths of 450 cm and 600 cm for soil preparation before sowing. By consolidating the upper soil layer to approximately sowing depth, they help retain moisture and encourage moisture from lower layers, which the plant cannot otherwise use, to move upwards. This improves seed-to-soil contact and supports easier germination.
Application and benefits
Before sowing, breaking down clods and levelling the soil surface helps the seed drill work smoothly without blockages. Rollers are also used after winter to consolidate soil that has become loose and lifted following pre-winter sowing.
